What is AFT?

Advanced Fluorescent Technology (AFT) is one of the newer forms of light therapy. Unlike laser, AFT uses a broad range of light wavelengths to deliver energy to the skin to treat fine lines, liver spots, skin laxity, rosacea, unify skin tone, and for skin rejuvenation.
AFT is a type of intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy.

How it works?
The wavelengths are designed in a way to stimulate the skin’s own natural collagen and elastin, thus giving it a fresher, more revived look.
While utilizing relatively low-energy, short-pulse broadband light, these imperfections can be gently heated and eliminated, replaced by newer, younger looking skin.
For exceptional results, 4 to 6 sessions are recommended every 4 weeks.

The Do’s and Don’ts of AFT

Before

Avoid sun exposure to the treated area two weeks before the treatment.
Use SPF 50 on treated area regardless.
A mild stinging sensation may occur the first couple hours followed by redness for the first or two days.

After

The treated area is expected to look darker 3 to 7 days’ post treatment.
Crusting may occur and last up to 10 days.
Age spots will begin to diminish promoting a more even skin tone.
Clients are expected to avoid sun exposure to treated area.
Clients can revert to daily activities immediately after the treatment.
Apply SPF 50 on treated area on a daily basis.
